My Dad.

Rev. Thomas "Tom" Milford Townsend

The passing of Rev. Thomas “Tom” Milford Townsend of Doaktown, NB, husband of Linda (Quick) Townsend occurred on March 19, 2010 in Fredericton, NB. Born on January 7, 1947 in Lockport, NS, he was the son of the late Alonzo and Ruby (Langille) Townsend. Tom was a Pastor for over 40 years, he served in churches in Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and presently he was the pastor of Doaktown Baptist Church. Husband, brother, father, grandfather, friend and pastor, these words only begin to express the identity of Tom. He gave selflessly of himself and loved all of us more than words can begin to express. The pastor in work pants with tools in his trunk and scars on his hands, he was quick to throw himself wholeheartly into any endeavour any of us might have on the go. Ready to cancel his plans to sit with us in our sorrow and cry out to God on our behalf, or to celebrate with us in our moments of greatest joy. Tom loved God, he loved his family and his many friends, his constant prayer was for each of us to know his Saviour, and love Him as he did. We will miss him more then words can begin to express, we loved him so!

In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by his children, Heidi (Clinton) of Fredericton, NB and Adam (Meghan) of Halifax, NS; grandchildren. Elijah, Ezekiel and Jack; sister, Kathleen (Wayne) Williams of Osborne Harbour, NS and brother, Carmen (Carolyn) Townsend of Kingston, NS and several nieces and nephews.

  3. I'm very behind on my reading and this is one of those times that make me feel ashamed that I am. I'm very sorry for you, my dear. Let me know if there's something I can do beyond my prayers.
