Bring on the Pig, part 2

I recently blogged about our trip to the H1N1 vaccination clinic. It was a difficult decision to get the boys vaccinated, but we really felt it was in Elijah's best interest. He is asthmatic and can get very sick from even the common cold.What we did not count on was him being exposed to the H1N1 virus on the same day he got vaccinated (it takes 8-10 days for adults to develop immunity after the vaccine, and 2 doses at least 3 weeks apart for children). Long story short, Elijah spiked a fever yesterday afternoon and by bedtime was very sick. This morning we went to the dr. and she diagnosed him with H1N1. He is now on Tamiflu to try to prevent complications like pneumonia. This is the sickest I can ever remember him being. His fever has hung out between 103-104.5 all day. He barely left his bed on the couch. He is wobbly and dizzy and exhausted.

This is not a recent photo of my sick little boy, but rather a reminder of his amazing spunk and personality. Please pray for Elijah, that he will get well quickly and without complications. And pray for the rest of us as well. I am quite sick with bronchitis already, and can't afford to get H1N1 as I have not yet been vaccinated. Our little family needs all the prayer it can get right now.
