What to blog, what to blog...

I really have no idea how to go about starting a blog. When I was younger, before two pregnancies killed off a million or so of my brain cells, I was an avid writer. Words flowed from my pen (or keyboard) effortlessly and I could fill pages with my profound thoughts.

Now that I am a mother of two charming boys, my thoughts are... well... interrupted. I rarely have more than a few minutes of peace before I must run off to deal with a child who has a) attempted to bake a cake for daddy using a dozen eggs b) beat up his brother with a wet pullup until it exploded everywhere c) helped himself to an entire box of ice cream bars from the freezer or d) all of the above.

So for my first official blog entry, here are a few things that, before I had kids, I never thought I would have to say out loud...

1. Don't lick your brother.
2. Get that cheese out of your pants.
3. Don't pee in the frying pan.
4. Don't pee out the window. (we have a pee fascination in this house)
5. Next time you want to collect DNA, just use your spit (as opposed to the piece of plastic Eli got stuck in his ear while gathering earwax for one of his many "experiments").

....and that, my friends, is why I have a feeling my blog entries will be short and sporadic!!!

  1. I found your blog... hurray! I think you should blog about what you know, what you struggle with, whatever you feel about writing about! Some weeks I feel like writing more than others. It's okay! I am looking forward to hearing your interrupted profound thoughts. Really, it's pretty amazing that you have said those five things outloud!! The joys of mommyhood....... glad I have found you :)

  2. Ha! I think I have said a few of those things. I do agree with you. About the lost brain cells, times seven. I often have the thoughts but have to battle the urge to ignore everyone to type them out. I usually end up doing a lot of consequence paying when I get particularly wrapped up in the whole deal. Speaking of...I need to get dinner and do some getting ready for Emma's birthday tomorrow. Unpacking, laundry...all those things that come from being gone for the month.

    Hugs to you.
